Gaffey Street Diner

Last month, My Mother and I decided to take a trip to the Gaffey Street Diner. The Diner was recently featured on the Food Network show "Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives", and looked like a deliciously awesome place to have breakfast. My mom had been there before, and suggested the John Wayne Breakfast. A hearty plate of tortillas, eggs, potatoes, suasage, peppers and onions all smothered in an amazing chili sauce.

My mom opted for the eggs and biscuits, with the diners epic home fries.

If you want an amazing breakfast, and are willing to drive out to San Pedro, I stongly suggest you visit the Gaffey St. Diner. The portions here are HUGE. I would strongly recommend splitting a plate with someone if you intend on visiting. Also, don't try to park in their lot, its a death trap. Park on the street.

Beer of the Week: Budweiser American Ale

I picked up a 6 pack of this because it was amazingly cheap ($4.99)

I had low expectations, considering its made by budweiser.

Suprisingly, it is quite delicious. Has a sweet malty start, and a hoppy finish. The only downside, it tastes too "carbonated"

I give it a 3 out of 5 on the Mikey delicious beer scale.

Epic Steak Night.

Labor Day 2009.

A great day for food. Bone-in rib eye steaks were on sale, and it was a holiday, so I decided to make it epic steak night.

Salt/Pepper/Italian Seasoning on the outside, and pan fried.
Served with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, green beans, and a beer.

Epic.
